ModA is honored to announce a profound, multi-layered collaboration and exhibition program with the seminal project Shy Bride Video Services in 2026. Join us in exploring how art can frame tradition, investigate celebration, and trace the delicate patterns of identity.
About Shy Bride Video Services
Shy Bride Video Services is an ongoing artistic intervention led by Zahra Mansoor and Juliet Lazek, which explores wedding culture as a nexus of identity, class, gender, and modernity. It’s a practice rooted in material memory and cultural archeology.
“Shy Bride is an avant-garde, traditionally non-functional wedding videography company, aimed at producing visual content of modern weddings using retro equipment, taking stylistic notes on kitsch from archival footage of South Asian weddings.”
ARTISTS
Zahra Mansoor is a Pakistani artist and cultural producer based in Paris (Parsons Paris, Beaux-Arts de Paris, University of Cambridge). Her work explores liminality—both metaphysical and physical—by studying the resonance between Sufism, Western metaphysics, and Jungian theory. Her work has been exhibited at ModA NYC, Fondation Fiminco, Chawkandi Gallery, and other venues.
@zahramansoors
Juliet Lazek is a Polish-Austrian multimedia artist working across documentary filmmaking and investigative photography (Parsons Paris, King's College London, University of St Andrews, NFTS). Her practice merges visual storytelling with historical research to explore intersections of memory, activism, and representation. She often collaborates with NGOs and community initiatives, using lens-based media to document social issues and modes of resistance. She is currently developing documentaries highlighting artists' creative processes.
